Follow-Up Guides for Every Game
When your learners finish, you get a printable PDF with 5–8 discussion prompts for your next class. Examples:
- “In City Choices, you chose to save rather than spend. What made that choice feel right?”
- “What would you do differently next time?”
- “When have you faced a choice like this in real life?”
- “Who in your life thinks about money differently than you do, and why?”
Every guide is structured to take 10–15 minutes in one class period. You can use it to debrief the whole class, run small-group discussions, or have learners journal individually.
Play in Your Classroom (Projector-Friendly)
Don't have enough devices? Run the game together on your projector or smartboard while learners direct your choices. One learner uses the keyboard/tablet; the class votes on each decision; you pause between rounds to discuss. Same learning, different format.
Classroom mode tips
- One learner drives; rotate drivers every round so everyone gets a turn.
- Pause before each choice and ask: “What would you choose? Why?”
- After the mission: “What surprised you? What would you change next time?”
Reading Level & Access Controls
Every game has built-in controls your learners can adjust themselves:
Reading level — not age level
Same game; simpler words and shorter sentences. Your learner picks this option when they assign themselves to a game. It's independent of age mode—an 8th grader can stay in the 9–12 scenario and choose easier reading if that works better.
Other controls on every game
- Text size (up to 200% larger).
- Captions and transcripts for all spoken content.
- Reduced-motion mode (no animations).
- High-contrast toggle.
- Pause and extended time (always available).
- Help text (context-specific hints without penalty).
You don't configure these ahead of time. Learners access them in the game's settings menu when they start.
Teacher Plan Going Forward
We're building a teacher dashboard (launching in 2027) where you'll see which students engaged with which practices, used which supports, and which ones might benefit from follow-up. You'll also be able to:
- Assign specific games to specific learners (instead of sharing a link to everyone).
- Track participation across a unit or term.
- Generate simple reports for parents or administrators.
Until that launches, share links and collect the debrief conversations—your current workflow that works.
Questions? Start Here
- Not sure which world to start with? Have your learners take the 3-question world picker on the Families page or start with The Beacon Project demo (works for any grade 4+).
- Want to run a full unit? Sequence one game per week in the same world, or alternate worlds to mix skills. Follow-up guides are built for both.
- Need accommodations beyond what's in the settings? Email support@daphnedonald.com with specifics; we've got a process for custom access routes.
