How we keep Daphne Donald safe
Safety is designed into the product from the first line of code, not added after launch. Here is exactly what is true today and what is on our roadmap.
What is true today
- No accounts and no sign-in. There is nothing to create, log into, or recover. You open the site and play.
- No data stored on our servers. Game progress and settings are saved to your own device using browser localStorage. Nothing about you or your learner is sent to or stored on our servers.
- No cookies. The site does not set cookies of any kind.
- Cookieless aggregate analytics only. We use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits in aggregate without setting cookies or tracking individuals.
- A visible reset on every device. Learners and adults can clear all saved progress and settings at any time. The reset control is visible in the GameShell — not buried in a menu.
What is on the roadmap
These features arrive in later phases, behind their own safety review gates:
- Adult-created accounts only. When accounts arrive (Phase 5), they will be created and managed by an adult. Learners under 18 will not self-register. Identity is by nickname or alias, never a photo upload.
- Preset-only multiplayer communication. When multiplayer games arrive (Phase 6), all in-game communication will use preset contextual messages — no free text, no direct messaging, no image sharing, and no off-platform contact routes. Private cohorts for minors; no public leaderboards for players under 18.
- AI features for ages 13 and up, with adult approval. AI mentor features (Phase 6) will be available only to learners 13 and older, and only after an adult approves access. AI will be absent for learners under 13. All AI interactions are moderated, bounded in scope, and reviewed.
